Adidas to Sell CCM Hockey for $100 million

Adidas will be selling their CCM Hockey brand for around $100 million to a private Canadian equity firm called Birch Hill Equity Partners.

The move comes a few years after Adidas initially tried to unload their hockey brand. Back in 2013, they were unsuccessful at doing so at a price of $150 million. CCM currently generates roughly $10 million in earnings according to the New York Post.

This isn’t the first move of this nature from Adidas this year. A few months ago they unloaded their Taylor Made golf brand to focus more on their core business.

While CCM Hockey will certainly remain intact, it will be interesting to see how the sale effects the RBZ line of sticks. This line, of course, uses technology from Taylor Made to improve your shot.
