2017 Bauer Vapor X900 Skates
This summer, Bauer will be refreshing their skate line with the new 2017 Bauer Vapor X900 skates. These skates are a premier offering from Bauer and will be the 2nd most expensive skate in the line.
Diving right into the specs, we know that the 2017 Bauer Vapor X900 skates will feature a fit for low profile feet. This means it will have a shallow heel pocket, a low instep, and minimal ankle wrap. The skates are engineered with a 3D lasted Curv composite upper complete with X-rib pattern made popular by the Vapor line.
Inside the boot is a new Lock Fit+ liner designed to keep your feet dry while also keeping them locked in place. Locking your foot in place will help to improve agility and acceleration out on the ice. There is also an anatomical heel/ankle support, as well as lightweight form fit foam ankle pads for maximum comfort.
The 2017 Bauer Vapor X900 skates will feature a new Flex-Lock+ tongue for improved fit, flex, and protection. It will help to keep your foot locked in with forward flex, and offer improved protection from pucks. A Lock-Fit+ footbed is included too, providing additional help to keep your feet locked in place, while also helping them to stay dry.
Beneath the boot, you will find a full lightweight composite outsole on the 2017 Bauer Vapor X900 skates. This lightweight outsole will help provide incredible energy transfer with each stride. Bauer will also utilize the Tuuk Lightspeed Edge holder, as well as Tuuk LS3 stainless steel runners.
We expect the 2017 Bauer Vapor X900 skates to officially launch in July and hope to see them on retail store shelves by the middle of the month. These skates will probably be made available for pre-order as well, so keep an eye out for that. Our friends over at Ice Warehouse do a lot of pre-orders on their gear, so be sure to check them out in June to be one of the first to grab the all new X900 skates!
